Mr. William Weaver, 83, of 1483 Muddy Branch Road, Canon, died Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Oak Heritage Nursing Home, Baldwin.
Born October 14, 1923, in Hart County, he was the son of the late Tom and Ada (Beebe) Weaver. He was a butcher. Mr. Weaver was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law: William James Weaver, Jr. and Dora of the Gumlog community; daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth and Jim Crittendon of Lavonia and Avaline and Larry Adams of Carnesville; daughter: Denise Weaver Thompson of Hull; sister: Lula Mae Busha of Lavonia; grandchildren: Scotty Bailey, Dale Greenway, Melody Housley, Michael Weaver, Kelly Evans, Nikki Thompson, Joseph Thompson, and Levi Thompson; and great grandchildren: Garrett Bailey, Dillon Bailey, Amelia Housley, Taylor Weaver, Braxton Brock, Chloe Weaver, Christine Boykin, and Justin Boykin. He was predeceased by his parents; wife: Wilma Barnes; sister: Louise Beebe; grandchildren: William James "Jamie" Weaver III and Jennifer Elizabeth Weaver; great granddaughter: Alicia Weaver;and special friend: Dot Howard.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Revs. Ken Coomer and Ralph Goss officiating. Interment will follow in Bowersville City Cemetery. The family is at the home of Elizabeth Crittendon, 332 New Hope Ext., Canon, GA 30521.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Oak Heritage Activities Fund, 205 Peach Orchard Road, Baldwin, GA 30511.
