Obituary
Mr. William Marvin Whitehead, 82, of Carnesville, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at his home.
Born on October 24, 1937 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Roy Ledger Whitehead and Estelle Beatrice Carson Whitehead.Mr. Whitehead was a self-employed construction worker and a member of the Sheet Metal Union, and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife: Gladys Ruth Smallwood Whitehead of Carnesville; three daughters: Susie Brown (David) of Hartwell, Chris Kiblinger (Keith) of Zebulon, GA, and Angie Eder (Wes Johnson) of Loganville, GA; five grandchildren: Koty Brown, Kelsey Brown, Jake Kiblinger, Luke Kiblinger, and Carson Eder; and one great grandchild: Lane Kiblinger. Mr. Whitehead is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Eugene Whitehead and Lamar Whitehead; and sister: Nina Kelley
A memorial service celebrating Marvin's life will be held at a later date by the family when everyone can come together.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of one's choice.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
