Mr. William Raymond Wilson, 95, of Greenville, formerly of Hartwell, passed away Friday, January 8 2016 at Brookdale of Greenville.

Born on February 27, 1920 in Bates County Missouri, he was the son of the late Noah Emmett Wilson and Maude Alma Hunter Wilson.Mr. Wilson was the former owner / operator of Valdosta Firestone, Valdosta GA and a WW II U. S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his two sons: Robert Wilson and his wife Janice of Taylors SC and Stephen Wilson and his wife Christine of Buford GA; a daughter: Janice Tidwell and her husband Jerry of Hartwell GA; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife of seventy-one years, Vera Louise Workman Wilson; a grandson: Patrick Scott Wilson; a great-grandson: Jacob Emmanuel Wilson and several brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Carl Lancaster officiating.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.The family is at the home of Janice and Jerry Tidwell, Reed Creek Hwy, Hartwell.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brookdale Hospice, 25 Woods Lake Road, Ste. 405, Greenville SC 29607.
