Mr. William Alonzo Young, 84, of 624 W. Howell Street, Hartwell, died September 8, 2013 at his home.

Born on July 27, 1929 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Daniel Boone Young and Willie Nixon Young.He was retired from Owens Corning in Anderson, SC, and was the Owner/Operator of Precision Lock & Key in Hartwell, was a member of the American Legion and was a US Air Force and US Army Veteran having served in the Korean War.

Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Jones of Sanford, FL; a son, Michael Berry Young of Chatsworth, GA; a sister, Anne Rast of Lilburn, GA; one grandchild; and devoted friend and caregiver, Barbara Moore of Hartwell also survives.Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the M.J. Dollie Cooper Veteran's Cemetery in Anderson, SC with Chaplain Don Holden and military honors provided by the Campbell Patriots.
