Mrs. Willie Esther "Bill" Harris Reynolds, 85, of Canon, GA, died Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at her home.
Born September 2, 1921 in Elbert County, GA, she was the daughter of the late James Gordon Harris, Sr. and Annie Skelton Harris.She was an active and longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church.She was involved with the Joy Club and the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker.. She worked in Food Service with the Hart County School System for a number of years.
Survivors include:Son, Billy Reynolds of Canon, GA; Daughters, Wanda Franklin and her husband Richard of Huntsville, AL, Peggy Alverson and her husband,Bill of York, PA, and Patricia Nelms and her husband Randy of Kennesaw, GA; Brothers, Dr. Wayne Harris of Royston, GA and Winston Harris of Hartwell, GA; Sisters, Winona Weaver of Canon, GA and Daltha Bowen of Anderson, SC; She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who affectionately called her "Grandmom".A devoted wife and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joe Neal Reynolds; Five brothers, Dennis, Gartrell, J.G., Alfred, Isom and Paul Harris; and three sisters, Ruby McCollum, Leah Whitaker, and Lula Turner.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church.Rev. Jerry Durham, Rev. Richard Bielski, and Rev. Brian Alverson will officiate.Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends Thursday from 5 – 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home.
