Mr. Wilton Cox "Punk" Morgan, age 92, of Bowersville, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at his home.
Born July 23, 1925, in Lavonia, GA, he was the son of the late James Ralph Morgan and Annie Blanche (Cox) Morgan. He was a graduate of Lavonia High School. After serving in the US Navy, he graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in mechanical engineering and followed in the footsteps of his father as the owner of Morgan Hardware. He was a member of the Lavonia United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Jacquelyn "Jackie" (Moorhead) Morgan; sister: Elizabeth Crawford; brothers: Howard Morgan and Winston Morgan; and granddaughter: Melody Morgan.
He is survived by his daughter: Susan Morgan; daughter & son-in-law: Donna & Jerry Riggins; son & daughter-in-law: David & Ashley Morgan; grandchildren: Andy Riggins, Matthew Riggins, Katie & Tony Ferguson, John Riggins, Aaron & Kristin Morgan, Benjamin Morgan, Mary Clare Morgan, Abigail Morgan, Stephen Morgan, Hope Morgan, Nancy Day Morgan, Patrick Morgan, Jonas Morgan, and Joelle Morgan; and great-grandchildren: Angela and Tamar Riggins.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Lavonia United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Nancy Hart Memorial Park with military honors. Mr. Morgan's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lavonia United Methodist Church Food 4 Kids, P.O.
