Mr. Wofford Ellis Wooten, 84 of Canon, Ga. passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at his home.
Born on October 29, 1933 in Tazwell, Ga., He was the son of the late Richard Lee & Katie Roberts Wooten.Living most of his life in Canon, he worked many years as a logger. He loved to hunt and fish until his health wouldn't allow him to.He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, and brother.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years Ruth Wood Wooten, daughter and son-in-law Amanda and DeWayne Murray of Royston; grandchildren, that he loved dearly, Jacob Chance Wooten and Kayla Grace Murray, both of Royston; great grandson: Aiden Luke Wooten of Royston; sister: Sara Hobbs of Bowman; and brother: Lelas Wooten of Hartwell.He was preceded in death by brothers: Robert Wooten and Willie Wooten and sisters: Inez Williams, Allie Lee Childs, Della Mae Vaughn, Mary Watson, and Louise Bowers.
The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Canon Church of God with Rev. Gary Stewart and Rev. Jerome Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Bowers Memorial Park in Canon.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at other times the family will be at the home.
