Mr. Woodrow E. "Woody" Jones, 68, of Beaver Run Ext, Bowman GA, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens GA.

Born on September 11, 1949 in Augusta GA, he was the son of Ola Mae Milton Jones Reese and the late Rudolph B. Jones Sr.Mr. Jones was a member of the John S. Davidson Masonic Lodge # 77, former Deputy Sheriff, Sheet Metal Mechanic and Truck Driver.

Survivors include his mother: Ola Mae Reese of Appling GA; his wife: Selina Partain Jones of Bowman; a son: Woodrow "Little Woody" Jones of Augusta GA; two brothers: Steve Jones of Hephzibah GA and Sammy Jones of Augusta GA; a sister: Janice Reese of Macon GA; three grandchildren: Courtney, Jessica and Tracie Jones also survive.Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father; step-father: George Reese and two brothers: Jackie Jones and Rudy Jones.

A memorial service celebrating Woody's life will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.The family will be at the home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 41 Perimeter Center, Suite 550, Atlanta GA 30346.
