Ms. Wyolene "Pete" Verner, 95, of Hartwell, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at Pruitt Health - Spring Valley in Elberton GA.

Born on February 16, 1928 in Carnesville GA, she was the daughter of the late Wiley J. Verner and Hattie Neal Smith Verner.  Ms. Verner was retired from Starr Mill, where she was a Draw End Hand and a member of the Goldmine Church of God.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.  Ms. Verner was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters: Annie Sylvia Verner, Monteen Verner, Grace Cash, Blanche Vaughn, Mary Lou Banks and Guynell Elrod and two brothers: Wade Verner and Garvin Verner.

Graveside services for Ms. Pete Verner will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Gary Thompson officiating.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
