Yvonne M. Crissey, 79, of Hartwell, died Monday, May 9, 2011 at her home.

A well known artist in Florida, she became hooked on miniature painting in 1993. One of her paintings was selected and included in the international exhibition in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.

She was recently challenged and commissioned by a family member to return to her original style by painting a 22x28 oil on can¬vas. It was just completed and will be on display at her Mem¬orial Service as well as the Harts Regional Arts Council Juried Show on the square June 10. Miss Crissey saw God's touch of colors everywhere. She was a world traveler.

Survivors include her sister, Armida Devore; a nephew, Gary Devore and his wife Paula; a niece, Denise Newman and her husband Bill

A memorial service will be Saturday, May 21 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Hartwell at 11 A.M. led by Father Lee Peyton followed by a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Organ Fund, 579 Fairview Ave, Hartwell, GA 30643
