Mr. Joseph H. "Joe" Sorrells, 66, of Third Street, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

Born on February 2, 1953 in Anderson SC, Joe was the son of the late Marion Magill Sorrells and Margaret Edna Seay Sorrells.Joe formerly worked for several years at Gip's Mfg. Company, was a substitute teacher at Hart County High School and was currently employed with the Hart County Board of Commissioners, working at the Goldmine Convenience Center. He also was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, where he was an Usher and served on the Safety team.

Survivors include his sister: Laura Hill and her husband Donald of Watkinsville GA; two nieces: Melissa Anne and Rebecca Suzanne Hill and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. R. Allen Stewart and Mr. Tom Hardigree officiating.A reception will follow the services in the church fellowship hall.Burial will be in the Northview Cemetery.

Flowers optional, memorials may be made to Hartwell First United Methodist church, 200 E. Howell Street, Hartwell GA 30643.
