Obituary

Louis "David" Ezzard, 42, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Lavonia, GA on September 24, 2022.

He was born on May 23, 1980 in Atlanta, GA to the late William T (Bill) Ezzard, Jr and Betty Swinford Ezzard.

David grew up in Grayson, GA and attended South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, GA. He graduated from Faith Academy in Loganville, GA and the Wyatt Real Estate Institute in Greenville, SC. He was a former REALTOR and a project coordinator in the cell tower industry.

David is survived by his Mother, Betty Ezzard Powell of Lavonia, GA, his much loved daughter, Monica Ann Ezzard (Justin) of Mt Pleasant, SC, a brother William T (Chip) Ezzard, III (Angela) of Asheville, NC, a step-brother Brandon Powell of Atlanta, GA and step-sister Alissa Powell Taylor (Jamie) of Rocky Face, GA. David was preceded in death by his father and his step-father Charles G Powell, Jr, his paternal grandparents LT Col (Ret) William T Ezzard, Sr and Dr Ruth Arrendale Ezzard of Tiger, GA and Louis Ira and Horace Moore Swinford of Rome, GA. David is also survived by several loving aunts and uncles and lots of cousins, 4 nieces and many lifelong friends that his family always considered part of their family. One of David's longtime friends posted on Facebook at his passing: "You were always solid gold folks, never an ill word towards anyone. Always rockin that goofy smile. I'll never forget you and in that respect you will live forever. You will be missed and loved." That's a good testament to the way David lived his life.

David enjoyed bass fishing, camping trips with friends and his brother, especially deer hunting, music festivals and concerts with his brother and all their friends and beach trips with his entire family. The shining element in his life was his beautiful daughter Monica. There was never a prouder or more loving and caring father than he was for Monica. We will cherish all those memories we shared with him and hold them in our hearts forever. They will all be remembered with love and regret that he had to endure so much physical and mental pain during the last few years of his life. We will sorely miss all the future memories we still had to make and grieve that his life was cut too short.

David's wishes were to be cremated and his ashes buried at the Tiger Cemetery in Tiger, GA with his father and other family members.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of arrangements.
