Linda Louise Whitworth, age 79, of Lavonia, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Hartwell health and Rehabilitation.
Born August 11, 1946, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Beulah Stovall Whitworth. Linda worked as a seamstress and Carwood Manufacturing and later worked as custodian for Franklin County High School and the Lavonia First United Methodist Church. Cleaning was not just Linda’s job as a custodian; it was her hobby and passion. She took great pride in keeping an immaculate house and yard. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Furman Whitworth, Shelton Whitworth, Charles Whitworth, Dizzie Whitworth, and Denver Whitworth; and sisters, Pauline Norris, Dollie Mae Moseley, Elnorie Holbrooks, and Fannie Farmer.
She is survived by her brother, Carl Whitworth; sisters & brothers-in-law, Wynell & Ben Price and Jeanette & Clendon Bagwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce McGee officiating. A private burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
