Mike Ellison

Mr. Michael LeQuinn “Mike” Ellison, 76, of the Vanna Community, Royston, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026 at Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton.

Born on August 4, 1950, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Hoyt William Ellison and Vera Pauline Keaton Ellison. Mr. Ellison was a self-employed carpenter, a Minister of the Gospel, and he counseled at Fresh Winds, a men’s drug & alcohol recovery center in Athens GA. Mike also loved & cherished his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife: Angela Martin Ellison: two sons: Michael Shane Ellison (Brandi) & David LeQuinn Ellison, all of Vanna, GA; one sister: Diane Hilley (Kenny) of Calhoun Falls, SC; seven grandchildren: Audrey, Braden, Caylee, Chase, and Levi Ellison, Mackenzie Dailey, Bayge Smith; and seven great-grandchildren: Kaiden, Layla, Brinley, and River Ellison, Wren Smith, Nolan Smith, and Rylin Dailey.

Mr. Ellison is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Billy Ellison, David Chastain, Earp Chastain; and one sister: Freida Chastain.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 14, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral Services for Mr. Mike Ellison will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Burial will be held in the New Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson, SC.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is assisting the family with all of the arrangements.
